LFW SS12: Day Five

Now, who remembers David Koma? Yes, he was the one that designed THAT dress for Cheryl Cole on the X-Factor. Well, if you think he slipped off the radar, Day Five of LFW proves that there is no fear of doing that. In a slight derivation from most of the collections this week, Koma has dared to go dark (left). Mixed in with eye-watering bright blue and pink, and eye-catching white cut-out dresses, Koma collection proves he's fast becoming a big-hitter. Think Mulberry blended with Giles Deacon, and you might be a little way there. Koma describes his signature designs as "sculptural shapes, heavy embellishment and perfect fit", and who can argue? The Georgian-born designer certainly knows his fit - and this season was inspired by aboriginal culture, femininity and lines. Koma is my top up-and-coming designer and I think that this collection proves why.
