Boys Corner

A check shirt should be a wardrobe staple for any man, and this short-sleeved dark number will mean you're less Lumberjack and more laidback cool. £26 from Topman.

Pick of the Day

Silk Wrap Playsuit

This Oasis polkadot silk playsuit is ideal for city chic. The wraparound waist slims the figure, and polkadots add a splash of fun to quite a smart outfit. Try with a blazer over the top and some cute ankle boots. Buy it now from Oasis for £55!

Boys Corner

Green and Tipped Collar Polo

Back by popular demand! I have been requested many times since the start of my blog to add a bit of male flavour to the mix. So, here is the first of many "Boys Corners". In keeping with the Polo theme of today, I thought I'd go with the iconic Polo shirt. Now, guys, no figure-hugging in these Tees please - you don't want to look like a foppish teenager (unless, of course, that's the aim). Keep it loose, and add a preppier look by turning up the collar. This bottle green Polo is £14 from Topman.

Keep it Cropped

Khaki Linen Scoop Pocket Crop

Another top-spot from the Polo today was the abundance of khaki! This is no bad thing - these elite fashionistas knew what they were doing. Worn cropped with white and tan, they channeled the jungle theme whilst keeping it Polo-friendly. Try this pair from Wallis for £23. Ideal for stamping down those divots!

Denim Rules O.K.

Mid Denim Trucker Jacket

So you've seen denim shorts, skirts and shirts. You know how to put it together, and how to make an outfit work with denim. So now for the next step. Pop down to Miss Selfridge and get yourself this little jacket for £45. Throw on over a rock'n'roll Tee, use it to hit the denim-on-denim trend, or simply throw over a summer dress for chilly evenings. Always go for faded denim jackets in the style of Top Gun, or you risk looking like you've stepped out of the 90s. And not in a good way.

Pick of the Day

Watercolour Silk Scarf

Inspired by the very glamorous ladies at the Polo match today, my pick is this Topshop silk scarf, £22. To stay chic, wear it loose around your neck, or secure in place with a single knot. Go with bright shades, and keep it as vintage-inspired as you can. The blue in this scarf is perfect, a splash of colour.

Saturday 29 May 2010

Pick of the Day

Roll Up Twill Shorts

I really love this simple khaki shorts, £18 from New Look. Wear with a plain white Tee and the animal print sandals from "Jungle Power"! Strictly for bare legs though - tights don't go with the jungle theme I'm afraid.

Jungle Power

Leather Animal Sandals

I love these!!! I spotted them on New Look's website and immediately fell head over sandals. Get them for £30; and why not try painting your nails a bright colour to contrast!?

Eurovision

ASOS BLACK Cappuccino Frill One Shoulder

In honour of the Eurovision song contest - from fab frocks to garish costumes - I found this lovely little number. One shoulder, tutu-esque skirt, it's just right for Eurovision 2010 without all the wardrobe nightmare. £120 from Asos Black. Just remember, when watching the Eurovision, to keep a bottle of wine close by!

Pick of the Day

This gorgeous New Look maxi dress is going for just £30! All you have to do is add some funky accessories and you've got your perfect maxi dress for summer. I adore the floral colour pop against the black.

Tuesday 25 May 2010

Sex and the City

I have to admit I'm very excited about Sex and the City 2! Well, the clever folks at Dogeared clearly are too - they've produced a limited-edition range of SATC inspired necklaces. Prices start at £45 from Asos.com. I love this cute "Hopeless Romantic" necklace, a nod to Parisian chic.

Magazine Tuesday

Today is the day you can find the latest issues of Look, More!, and Grazia. Don't hang about! Snap them up and get a triple dose of fashion for the week ahead; find something to wear for a night out this weekend, what make-up to get to freshen up for summer, or the perfect outfit for a last minute barbecue! Who cares if the weather is getting colder again!? Warm yourselves with Look, More! and Grazia.

Pick of the Day

Knitted Heart Cardigan

So the hot weather of the weekend hasn't held up. So what!? You can still look stylish in this Topshop cardi, £38. Throw over denim shorts and a white top for the chillier evenings, or team with a pair of dark jeggings and black top for a slightly warmer take.

Monday 24 May 2010

Friday 21 May 2010

Miracle Jeans

Tipe - Dark Rinse Wash Jeans

Skinny jeans might be the popular option right now, but I still keep a faithful pair of bootcuts for those fat days. Bootcut jeans are super-slimming thanks to the flare at the ankle balancing you out. Go for a dark wash to really slim and lengthen your legs - this £89 pair from Ted Baker are just the trick.

Bag Splurge

And no, I'm not thinking of the Mulberry Alexa (only in my dreams). This slouchy number is £175 from Jigsaw, but so worth it! I love the plum shade and the on-trend buckles and zips. Big enough for summer too. Time to raid the piggy bank.

Pick of the Day

White Super Skinny Jeans

White jeans are slowly creeping onto the fashion radar again, and these £28 skinnies from Dorothy Perkins are ideal. It doesn't really matter how you wear jeans, and white jeans are the same - wear them with style, and you've got it. Don't worry if you're too nervous to go the whole way yet - you can buy ultra-pale stonewashed jeans too.

Thursday 20 May 2010

Pick of the Day

Pouch Pocket Vest Dress

Kate Moss has just launched her new designs for Topshop, and they are gorgeous! Dreamy and floaty and in this season's hottest shades. You can browse the new range here. This jade dress is another Topshop find for £25. Wear it now with opaque tights, and bare-legged in the summer. Great for Saturday shopping!

Wednesday 19 May 2010

Pick of the Day

ASOS BLACK Heavy Ruffle Shoulder Dress

This little pink dress, £120, is fresh from Asos Black's new range. Filled with ruffles, feathers and sequins in pretty pastels, the range is oh-so girly, which I love. Wear this with some contrasting shoes and glowing skin - it needs nothing else.

Tuesday 18 May 2010

To the Maxi

I can't explain how much I love this Topshop maxi dress. At £75, this dress has sold out almost everywhere, including online! But keep your eyes peeled, because you definitely don't want to let this one get away. So understated as a maxi dress goes, and yet ideal for almost every situation. I'm going to be wearing mine to a barbecue-and-cocktail party!

Pick of the Day

Leather Moto Biker Jacket

One of my favourite trends for SS10 is pairing ditsy dresses and florals with edgy and grungy jackets or boots. The easiest and quickest way to do this is to team a sweet dress with this real leather jacket from Warehouse, £110. It might cost a bit, but it's definitely worth the money! For extra rock-chick cool, team with some unlaced boots and smoky eyes.

Monday 17 May 2010

Barbecue Best

Pixie Flower Dress

This cute dress is £35 from New Look and ideal for barbecues. The 50s-style cut means it's casual and flattering enough during the day, but dainty enough for evening. Forget creams and whites for barbecues, this blue is just right to show off that tan (real or not).

We Like Short Shorts

Cream Spotty Bow Short

Shorts are the item to be seen in this summer, and this year they're just as confident as the dresses. I love these Miss Selfridge spotty shorts, £29. They sit perfectly on the waist for an hourglass figure, and are smart enough for workwear or cocktail bars. Snap up your pair now!

Pick of the Day

Cream Chiffon Drop Waist Dress

I love this Grecian-inspired dress from Miss Selfridge, £42! Team with tan and gold for a soft summer look, or grungy boots to add edge. Either way, this is definitely a summer wardrobe staple.

Sunday 16 May 2010

Hats On

Straw Trilby
How cute is this trilby!? Get it for £5 from New Look and team with stonewashed jeans and white vest for a laidback summer vibe. Perfect for festivals too!

Pick of the Day

Try grunge cool with these New Look boots for £35. Wear with black opaque tights and a denim skirt now, and bare-legged later when it warms up. The easiest way to add some rock-chick to your wardrobe.

One for the Boys

Never one to exclude others, I have been requested to show a little attention to the boys. Men should be nothing if not stylish, and I don't like to disappoint, so here are my top spring-summer picks for the men:

Charcoal Cotton Trench Coat

1. The Trench Coat: This style of coat spans genders, and looks great on anyone! I particularly love trench coats worn over suits with the collar up, but they are ideal for the daytime too. Try a simple grey for timelessness - this one is £60 from Topman.

White America Flag T-Shirt

2. Printed Tees: Again, this look should never be restricted to men or women. Printed tees are bold; and add colour and fun to any outfit. I adore this American number from Topman again, £14.

Mirror Aviator Sunglasses

3. Aviators: Which man doesn't want to be in Top Gun!? These £12 aviator sunglasses from Next definitely look the part.

Levi's 501, straight leg, dark blue

4. Jeans: When it comes to jeans, nothing too flashy. The statement's all in the Tees and shirts and shoes this time around. Debenhams are offering this pair of Levi's for £52. Straight leg to show off the shoes, and dark to show off the tan. Perfect. If you're not a fan of dark jeans, try stone-washed for a festival vibe.

Asos Deck Shoes

5. Now, stick with me on this one: Deck Shoes: Think preppy cool and you're pretty much there. Deck shoes are set to be the hot men's trend for spring-summer, and this Asos pair for £35 means you're already prepared. Plus, they're smart enough for most clubs, so you don't have to worry about footwear!

Pick of the Day

While the weather is still making up its mind, don't get caught short; sling this Lipsy coat, £35, over your outfit and wear open with the belt tied at the back for catwalk chic. Cropped mac coats are replacing their longer cousins for spring-summer, and neutral shades mean you can wear them again and again without worrying about going out of style.

Friday 14 May 2010

I Heart Ruffles Part Four

This lemon yellow beauty is £32 from Topshop. Contrast with a dark top and masculine accessories. Enough said!

I Heart Ruffles Part Three

Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles! As long as it's frilled, I'm in. And how can I resist, when you can get ruffled bags now!? This pink wonder is £32 from Topshop, and is perfect with a cream summer dress and nude heels - just the pop of colour you need to brighten your day.

Pick of the Day

Retro sunglasses are bang on trend right now; aviators, half-rims, cat eye or oval, the highstreet is brimming with vintage-alike sunnies. You can get cute floral-rimmed sunglasses and tinted lenses, but my favourites are the classics: brown, black and metallic. This adorable pair is just £8 from Dorothy Perkins, and how cute are the bows on the side!? Eat your heart out Jackie O.

Thursday 13 May 2010

Relaxing in Style

Who says pyjamas can't be stylish!? Okay, so these are more cute than chic, but they're ideal for lounging about Saturday morning. Topshop are ticking all the right boxes at the moment - this Snoopy pyjama set is going for £16. Trust me, with these on, your post-Friday night blues are forgotten. Pancake breakfast anyone?

Checks Please

Oversized, baggy, checked shirts are all the rage at the moment - anything goes, as long as it looks like it's been nabbed from the boyfriend. I love this £50 All Saints shirt! I'm buying it a size bigger to make it baggy, and wearing with skinny jeans. Roll the sleeves up to your elbows to emphasize your waist, and even try wearing it open with a vest underneath.

Loafing Around

The quickest, easiest and chic-est way to do preppy cool. These bright pink babies are £45 from Marks & Spencer, and come in black too! Forget tan loafers, hot pink is the way forward. Team with skinny jeans, checked shirt and oversized bag, and you'll be set. If they look like your granny would wear them - they're in.

Pick of the Day

Bonjour wardrobe staple! This top hits the French trend perfectly; I'm going to wear this Topshop body with a pair of dark jeans and a black cardi whilst it's still cold outside. Cute, and a snip at just £18. Body tops aren't for everyone, but they definitely rescue you from that embarrassing knicker-flashing moment when you sit down. Give them a go!

Wednesday 12 May 2010

Yes We Cannes

In honour of the start of the Cannes film festival, I decided to bring you this sexy Asos dress! It comes in mink or navy, and is totally red carpet worthy... but without the price tag! How does £45 sound to you!?

Pick of the Day

Pile these Topshop lovelies up your arm to nail the tribal trend. Bangles are great for completing an outfit, and you can get this set for just £12. I'm going to wear them with a white blazer and tan bag for city glam, but they will look just as good with a bold maxi dress and gladiator sandals.

Tuesday 11 May 2010

Guilty Pleasure

It might be £99 from Karen Millen, and a splurge rather than a bargain, but this bow top is so cute! Wear with dark skinny jeans and nude heels, and let the top do the talking. The draped sleeves and longer body makes you look taller, and the shape of the bow slims your waist. What more could you want!?

Pick of the Day

This structured red dress from LK Bennett has all the style of a Victoria Beckham design, but at a fraction of the price tag - £175. Perfect for office to bar, wear with some plain accessories and simple make up (try adding some feline flicks at the corners of your eyes to add a 40s twist).

Monday 10 May 2010

I Heart Ruffles Part Two

Ruffles, although considered girly, are a great way of adding edge to an outfit. Try an LBD with a difference in this one-shouldered lovely from Karen Millen, £180. Bang on trend and perfect to wear again and again; just play around with the accessories, and you've got a night-out staple.
