LFW Launch Party

I'm so excited! It was a big day today for London Fashion Week, and it all got off to a roaring start at the home of British fashion - Somerset House - yesterday night with the launch party.

This was the first ever official launch party for LFW (celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year), and with guests like Christopher Bailey, Sir Phillip Green and British Fashion Council's Harold Tilman on the guest list, it was an affair to remember! It also showcased a brand new aspect to LFW - we mere mortals can watch it all going down LIVE online and the soundtrack this year is provided by Burberry!

Not only that, but the likes of Twiggy, Matthew Williamson, Erin O'Connor and Stella McCartney (taking time out from prepping her Paris Fashion Week show) partied it up in the capital, celebrating the launch of Twiggy's book Twiggy: A Life in Photographs, the opening of a Herve Leger flagship store in Knightsbridge, and several other parties all across town. Phew!
So, you can see why this year's London Fashion Week is going to be so good!

My post on all today's shows will be up TOMORROW, so come back then for a peak at what's been going on in the Big Smoke.

NYFW

New York Fashion Week comes to end today, and it was beautiful! My fave show had to be Jenny Packham (pictured), but then she always has such beautiful designs. Victoria Beckham's show was fabulous too - the ex-popstar is really showing off her designing flair (she's also just joined Twitter, so follow the gorgeous lady herself; @vbfashionweek). Keep an eye on Thakoon too, his show really packed a punch - discovered by Vogue and Anna Wintour, Thakoon is a steadily rising star and really knows his stuff.

NYFW has also hit the news this week for having a show filled with plus size models! About time too - all the models were at least a UK size 16 and looked incredible. New York seems to definitely lead the way for all the other cities - Milan and Paris are both infamous for publicly ignoring plus size models for their fashion weeks, but it seems that this may be no more! With Fashion Week coming to London tomorrow (if you think I'm excited about New York, wait until you see the next week's posts!) I can't wait to see if the plus size trend is one that's going to take off. I hope so.

For all the updates of London Fashion Week, starting tomorrow, including a who's who of the front row, follow Marie Claire @marieclaireuk and Elle @ELLEUK on Twitter.

Spot Chiffon Blouse

What could me more chic than this chiffon blouse from Jaeger? Tuck into high-waisted trousers and accessorise with a faux croc bag. For extra points, add some big Jackie O sunglasses. The bonus is, it's now down to £49 from £150! Get shopping!

Getting the Hump

If there is one colour that sums up A/W10, it's camel. Whether it's a hot orange shade of camel, or cool and crisp, it's a wardrobe staple this season. If you're unsure what shade fits your skin tone, go for something fairly neutral, like these limited edition Karen Millen flared trousers, £135. The soft tone will suit anyone, and the bootcut will balance out all shapes. Plus, they're fantastically elegant, perfect for this season's womanly silhouette.

Boys Corner

Diesel T-Canoa Long-Sleeve T-Shirt

This chocolatey top is perfect for over a shirt or plain white Tee. Roll up the sleeves and team with dark jeans and brogues for a quirky outfit for a night out. You can get it from Republic for £39.99.
